Mentor
Ken McDermott would like to pay tribute to Stuart Morris who was his boss and mentor at MERAC and later at NFO and TNS and from whom he learned so much.
Camay
One of Ken's first research assignments with MERAC in Bahrain was on Camay and he had the honour and privilege of working closely with Farid Chehab and Marwan Najjar from Leo Burnett and John Cook at P & G - that was quite a team! The reason for the brand's decline had stumped many consultants until P & G approached MERAC. The reason was uncovered using a novel projective technique which showed the need for a fashionable revamp. The re-launch worked great for several years and the new concept was sent around the world and adapted locally in other countries. Ken kept an eye on the retail audits in this region afterwards and was pleased to see that Camay pegged back about 4% share points on the brand leader following the re-launch.
