Training should be on-the-job

We believe that much of the significant investment that UAE government clients make into training their employees brings results that disappoint. We have found that to be effective, training needs to be done on the job.
Classroom-based training is not ideal, due to the shyness of many participants and it often creates a shortage of resources in the workplace.
When we were asked to train 165 frontline employees for DEWA (including those working in the Call Centre), we developed an on-the-job methodology that was created to address specific issues identified during focus groups with customers.
This was one of our inputs that helped to push DEWA from 15th place in the DGEP Customer Satisfaction rankings in 2010 to 2nd place in 2011.
